End of October Update
Yesterday we met with our Oncologist for a routine appointment as well as a follow up from all the developments during Ben’s hospitalization. It was clear to him as well as both of us, that Ben’s body can’t handle any more treatment. It's not stable enough and the disease continues to spread and grow at a very aggressive rate. He referred us to Hospice Care, which is what we all think is best for this time- for Ben to be able to get the care he needs at home.
We continue to be overwhelmed by all of the amazing support and outreach we’ve received over this whole journey, but in particular over the last few months. As you can imagine this is very emotionally taxing on our entire family and while we’d love to have every one of you visit and share your kind words and love with Ben directly, we would love to focus our energy on our family, especially the boys. If you’d like to send a card or letter, that would be the best way to pass along your words of comfort and encouragement.
This Saturday, friends all over the country are participating in a Ruck honoring Ben. There are locations set up here in our local community, in Spring Hill, TN and Ashburn, VA (our hometown). If you would love to show up and be with other people that love and support our family, check out the support page and social media to find that information.
As you walk this weekend, please spend a moment praying over Ben and our family.
Please pray:
That Ben will not be in any pain.
For supernatural comfort and peace for our whole family.
For protection of the minds and hearts of the boys.
For strength and endurance for me.
