Sept 25, 2024

Sept 25, 2024

Thank you to everyone that has been praying without ceasing for us the past few days. We got a call yesterday morning to schedule the thoracentesis (fluid removal) and they told us that Monday, Sept 30 was their first available appointment and they would schedule that. However the scheduler did note that his case was marked with priority so she would call back if something became available more quickly. I told Ben when we got off the phone that they would call back, I knew everyone was praying for a sooner appointment and we would be getting a call back with something quicker.

The Lord, y’all! We got a call yesterday afternoon to arrive first thing this morning. That is a specific prayer answered and we are so grateful.

The procedure went smoothly and they removed a whole liter of fluid from his lungs 😳 The pressure in his abdomen was relieved very quickly and now he is resting and the hope is that he continues to feel better as the day goes on and that his breathing will become easier as well.

We have some things we are looking forward to this weekend so the hope is that we get a few days of “normalcy” before his next round of chemo next week. Thank you to everyone that has stepped in and offered to step in over the last few days. It really is hard to ask for help or anticipate needs when life is hour-to-hour but I am forever grateful for the people that notice a need and fill it for us right away.
