April 2024

It has been great the last few weeks hearing from all of you and having the chance to celebrate a huge win for our family together ♥️

After all the doctors were able to touch base, they suggested that we keep doing the chemotherapy regimen that Ben has been doing since the beginning of March. This includes chemotherapy in the bag which is a slow release dose over 48 hours as well as chemo in the pump that goes directly to the liver. This regimen includes little to no side-effects (for Ben, Thank God!) and occurs every other week. The team thinks this is the best option for right now so the spots in the lungs get hit with chemo and the large tumor in the liver still has time to reduce. Ben will then have a new set of scans mid-June to determine when his next surgery (on the liver) would be.

Please pray specifically for:

  1. the spots in the lungs completely disappear by the next set of scans.

  2. that the tumor in the liver shrinks radically

  3. that side effects remain minimal for the next 2 months.

After sharing our lives and Ben’s health journey for the past 11 months, I (Michelle) feel like I’m hitting somewhat of a vulnerability hangover. I love sharing with you all, and knowing that we are surrounded by an army of prayer warriors, but in all honesty, it does get tiring sharing all these details all the time. That being said, I’m going to make an effort to be quiet these next two months, since things “should” be relatively normal. We continue to be immensely grateful for God’s kindness to us lately, especially through y’all 💗
