Feb 13, 2024

Today, Ben is undergoing a small procedure that allows for the chemotherapy in the pump to go to both lobes of his liver. It is something we knew about but they were waiting for radiation to be completed before doing this minor procedure today. Grateful for our crew that drops everything to help us out with the kids when a few hours at the hospital often turns into a full day.

Would you please pray for protection over the hearts of our kids during this time? They have had to be so patient and flexible especially over these last 2 months, more than any child should have to.

Last week we dealt with another setback which was really discouraging. After radiation and oral chemotherapy stopped his discomfort should have slowed rather quickly. Unfortunately, he was experiencing severe pain in his abdomen which resulted in an appointment at the Acute Care Clinic at the Cancer Center all morning last week. After additional blood tests and some scans, they were able to determine that there was inflammation around his intestines and were able to prescribe antibiotics. It seems like those are working because his pain has decreased a lot!

In other good news, his incision is getting noticeably better! I change his dressing every other day and with each changing, I can see a visible difference! It will still take a little more time but we are thankful for the improvements.

Would you continue to pray that his body continues to heal? Would you pray that the chemo he is getting will kill all the cancer in his liver?

And for our whole family, please pray for a spirit of perseverance ♥️

Next scans: end of March - determines next steps including date of next liver surgery
