Recovery and Next Chapter

After 5 days in the hospital, Ben was released this morning to come home and we couldn’t be more thrilled! The recovery was more difficult than we expected but we were able to figure out the proper medications to help him be comfortable enough to finish recovery at home. 

His Post-Op appointment as well as his next Oncology appointment are later this week and after that we will know what this next chapter in his treatment will look like. 

Thank you for all the calls, texts, and messages over this past week. We could not have done this without all the support and prayers and tangible ways people showed up for us. I keep thinking about Philippians 4:6-7 and how most people know verse 6 where we petition to God, but a lot of people stop there. It’s verse 7 that I’ve been thinking about this week: 

6“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 

I can not explain to yall how much PEACE I experienced this week, even on the hard days. Please continue to pray for us this week as he continues to heal.
