See ya February

Feb 29, 2024

As we finish up February, I wanted to send out a few little updates and let you all know that we have had NO additional setbacks the last two weeks and that feels like a win and a huge answer to prayer 👏🏻 Ben is acting like himself and we all couldn’t be happier. His energy and appetite are back to normal so he is trying to get in extra movement on days that we change his dressing.

We went to the wound care specialist yesterday and she was very happy with the progress he has been making! It isn’t 100% but the pain is minimal and there are areas that it's completely closed up. This progress has been great to see and another answer to prayer 🙌🏻

Ben also met with his Oncologist last week and he recommended doing a few extra rounds of the systemic chemotherapy before his next scans that are scheduled at the end of March. Next week, Ben will go in for his 12th round of chemo that will include a full day infusion as well wearing the bag of the slow release chemo for 48 hours afterwards.

I find God’s timing in this really interesting. When people say, “God can’t give you more than you can handle '', it's meant as comfort but it's actually not true and not Biblical. What we know based on His word is that He gives exactly what we can handle WITH HIM at the right time. Back in the fall, another round of chemo would have been completely overwhelming. BUT we were put through so much for months (Dec-Feb) that hearing that he needs to do a few rounds of chemo is bearable. I’m trusting HIS timing.

As we head into the next few weeks of the chemotherapy regimen leading up to scans would you please pray for complete healing?

Can you pray that there is no detectable tumor in the colon?

Can you pray that the chemotherapy kills all the cancer cells in his body while keeping side effects of the drugs minimal?

Thank you for praying without ceasing for us ♥️
